Privacy Notice
Lemon Dilemma™ · Effective September 23, 2026
The short version
- No player accounts, in-game email requests, ads, in-game purchases or added player analytics. If you email support, we receive your email and message.
- You choose a preset stand name. We store that selection, your room’s moves and scores, and a random private key that lets you rejoin your seat.
- While the service is operating, room records are scheduled for deletion 30 days after the last saved game action, including joining, moves, continuing rounds and rematches.
- We never sell player information or use it for advertising.
Lemon Dilemma is operated by Holman Lane Publishing, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This notice explains how information is used in the browser game and the iPhone and Android app editions. Store availability depends on each platform’s release status. Our Terms of Use also apply.
1. Information used to run your game
You choose from preset stand names when you create or join a room. Current versions do not offer a field for your real name or other freeform text. For each room we store that selection, the room code, a random private session key for each seat, game choices, scores, round history and the time of the last game action. We use this only to run the two-player game and rematches.
The other player in your room can see your preset stand name, scores and round results. Your choices stay hidden from your opponent until both players have locked in; your opponent can see only that you have locked in. Share room codes and invitations only with people you intend to play with; someone with the code can take an open seat.
2. Storage on your device
The browser game saves your room reference and private session key in your browser’s local storage so you can reconnect on the same browser and device. This is functional storage, not advertising tracking. Leaving the room through the game’s controls removes that saved session. You can also clear the game’s site data in your browser, but doing so may prevent you from rejoining your existing seat.
In the iPhone app, the private session key is saved in a protected file on your device so you can reconnect. This file is excluded from device backups, and leaving the room removes it. Your app session is separate from a browser session; changing devices or reinstalling may lose access to your seat. The app covers your game when you switch away and asks you to continue privately when you return. This does not prevent screenshots or pause the other player.
In the Android app, the room reference and private session key are stored in the app’s private WebView storage. The app disables cloud backup and device transfer of this data. Leaving the room removes the saved session; clearing app data or uninstalling also removes it. Switching away covers the game, and returning asks you to continue privately. This does not prevent screenshots or pause the other player. Android app storage is separate from your browser and iPhone sessions.
3. Hosting and technical information
Cloudflare hosts the game and its multiplayer service. The multiplayer service supplies your IP address to Cloudflare’s rate limiter to limit excessive requests and protect the service. Our game code does not put IP addresses in room records. This does not mean Cloudflare keeps no separate technical records. Cloudflare also processes technical request information, such as IP address and browser type, to provide its services; see its privacy policy.
Squarespace provides the lemondilemma.com domain and forwarding service. Visiting that address also involves Squarespace; see its privacy policy.
The game has no player accounts, advertising, in-game purchases, cookies for tracking, or added player analytics. If you buy an app edition, the store processes the purchase under its own terms and privacy notice. We do not receive your full payment-card details through the game; stores may provide sales, transaction and support information to us to administer purchases and respond to requests.
4. How we use and share information
We use the limited information above only to run the game, keep it secure and answer your messages. We do not sell or rent player information, do not share it for advertising and do not use it to profile you. Our hosting providers process it on our behalf to run the service. We may disclose information if required by law, or to a buyer or successor if the game or our business is transferred; this notice would continue to apply to that information.
5. How long game information remains
Round history is kept for the current match and cleared when both players begin a rematch. While hosting is operating, the server schedules room records for deletion 30 days after the last saved game action (including joining, submitting choices, continuing rounds and rematches). Reconnecting or reading game state alone does not reset this period. Closing the page or leaving a room does not immediately delete the server’s room record. This schedule does not cover separate hosting-provider records or email correspondence.
If we retire the service, we will arrange deletion of remaining room records as part of shutdown, subject to any legally required retention; we will not rely on timers in a server that is no longer running. Separate hosting-provider records follow the provider’s retention practices. The game, including installed app versions, will stop working when its required online service ends. See section 5 of the Terms of Use.
6. Children and classrooms
Lemon Dilemma is intended for players ages 9 and up, including families and classrooms. Current versions have no chat, profiles, player accounts, or fields for contact details or typed player names. Players choose preset stand names and exchange only game choices and results in a private two-player room. There is no public player directory or matchmaking. Play with someone you know and share invitations privately.
We apply these limited-data practices to all players, without asking for a date of birth. Room/session identifiers and technical request information are used to maintain your seat, deliver game state, reconnect and protect the service, not for advertising, profiling or contacting children. A parent or guardian should handle purchases and support or privacy requests for a child. Parents and schools should review this notice before play; classroom use must follow school policy and applicable law.
Older installed versions may still show a typed-name field. Update to the latest version and do not enter personal details in an older version. Our updated server substitutes a preset for an unrecognized name and does not store new typed names in room records. Previously saved room records may retain older names until their normal expiration or an applicable deletion request; those names are no longer included in game-state or round-history displays. Parents may contact us to request review or deletion of a child’s information or to stop further collection. Include the room code if available, but never the private session key.
7. Your choices and rights
You choose a preset stand name, and you can leave a room at any time. Because the game has no accounts, we usually cannot link a room to a particular person without more information from you, such as the room code and approximate date of play. You may contact us with any privacy request, including requests to access or delete information under U.S. state privacy laws or the GDPR, and we will respond as applicable law requires.
8. Security
Choices are kept on the server and hidden from your opponent until both players lock in. Session keys travel over encrypted connections and are never placed in web addresses. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when the game’s information practices change, including if accounts, advertising or payments are introduced. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
